Summer Program

Our Summer Program offers children a seven week program adventure packed with educational activities that include, but are not limited to, outdoor experiences, swimming, rock wall climbing, gardening, sports games, field trips, and much more.  This program is for children who have successfully completed kindergarten through 5th grade.  Fees are determined on a sliding scale based on annual family income.

This years Outward Bound themes include:

  • June 15-19                   Getting to Know Each Other
  • June 22-26                   Nature Around the World
  • June 29 - July 3             Environmental Science
  • July 6-10                      Outdoor Water Adventure
  • July 13-17                     Sports Week
  • July 20-24                     Baking/Cooking
  • July 27-31                     Go Green!

During the Outward Bound summer program, field trips will be taken to the following locations:

  • Plymouth Pool
  • The Rail Trail/Heritage Park
  • Sanford Beach & Spray Park
  • Midland Community Center Climbing Wall
  • The Saginaw Children's Zoo
  • ...And more!

Field trips are limited to children who regularly attend the summer program.  In addition, the children will enjoy weekly visits from Chippewa Nature Center staff.  One exciting hour each week will be filled with snake chasing, bird watching, nature trails, and conservation skills.
