Computer Classes |
Learn
basic computing skills such as word processing, email,
as well as editing and emailing pictures. For a

Our
computer lab is available for public use anytime the
building is open. We do ask however that youth
under the age of 16 be accompanied by an adult or have
written parent permission. |

Counseling |
On-site
licensed counseling is available Tuesdays and
Thursdays to couples, individuals, families, and
adolescents struggling with life adjustment issues
such as depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts,
substance abuse, or other stressors. To schedule

Clothes Pantry |
A wide variety of adult and children's clothing is
available for free in our donated clothing room.
The room is open to the public during regular building

Basketball Drop
In |
Anyone
15 years of age or older can enjoy a game of
basketball Monday through Friday from noon to 1:00
p.m. or 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and on some Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Children
15 and younger can participate in drop-in activities
when accompanied by a parent or a responsible adult.
Drop-in Basketball costs $1.00 per person. |

Family Resource Room |
North Midland's family resource room has a wide
variety of books, videos and developmentally
appropriate toys and materials that parents and their
young children can enjoy at the Center or check out to

Fitness Room |
NMFC's fitness center is the ideal place to get into
shape, The facility is available during all
regular building hours and has a balance of weight
stations, free weights and cardiovascular equipment
including treadmills, a stationary bike, a rowing
machine, and elliptical climbers. The room is
fully air-conditioned and has cable television sets
for your entertainment. Participants must be 16
years of age to utilize the fitness center.
Seniors receive a 20% discount on memberships!
Remember, if you purchase a membership, the
orientation fee will be applied toward the cost of
your first membership. Call the front desk today

Food Pantry |
An Emergency Food Pantry Network site is available at
North Midland Family Center. Free food and other
household items are available to families in need.

Karate |
NMFC offers martial arts classes for
adults and teens (ages 11 and up). This is an
excellent opportunity to develop self-discipline,
learn focus and get or keep in shape and have fun at
the same time. The program includes sparring,
traditional weapons and tournament competitions for
interest students. There are also opportunities
for family classes. The cost is $20.00 per
person, per session for Family Karate and $30.00 per
session for Beginners and Advanced classes.
Session run nine weeks in length.
Family Karate (ages 8 and up):
Mondays & Thursdays 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Beginners ( ages 10 and up):
Mondays & Thursdays 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Advanced (Orange belt and up):
Mondays & Thursdays 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Please note: New students may register on the first
Tuesday or Thursday of each month. You are
welcome to drop in and watch a class at any time. |

Licensed After School Program -
|
Designed to provide alternative recreational and
educational opportunities for our youth after school
from 4 to 6 pm. On-site one-on-one tutoring is
available through the Literacy Council. Bus transport to NMFC
from Mills Elementary provided by the Midland School
system. Parents pick up the children by 6:00pm.
Financial assistance is available to those who
qualify. |

Licensed
Day Care Facility -
|
NMFC operates a licensed childcare throughout the year
for children six weeks of age through 12 years of age.
This program offers a wonderful opportunity for
working parents to access affordable, high quality
care for their children. The program operates
Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Financial assistance is available to those who
qualify. |

Michigan School Readiness Program |
Free School Readiness Preschool classes are available
for 4 year-old children at NMFC. The program
offers children the opportunity to develop social,
cognitive and physical skills in a comfortable and
supportive environment. Children must turn 4
years old by December 1st to qualify. Classes
are available regardless of income level and free
bussing is available. For more information call

Senior Programs |
The Mills Friendly Folk are a group of active seniors
who meet Monday through Friday to socialize, have fun
and enjoy and excellent meal. The Dining Center
is for everyone. Adults 60 and over or with a
spouse 60 and over can contribute a suggested donation
for a meal.. Anyone under 60 can purchase a delicious
meal for $5.25. The new friends you will
meet and the fun you'll enjoy are free of charge.
Regular activities include crafts, guest speakers,
music, and games. We'd love to meet you!

Playgroups |
The Center is home to playgroups for parents and their
preschool age children (ages 0-5). Every week
you and your child may participate in a range of
activities, crafts, games, snacks and stories based
upon different themes. This is a great
opportunity to have fun with your child and spend time

Summer Program |
A fun and exciting summer experience for children in
grades 1-5. This seven week program gives
children the chance to explore the world around them
through fun and interesting activities, field trips,
speakers and games. Come spend the summer
hanging out with some old friends and make a few new
ones! Financial assistance is available for
those who qualify. |

Teen
Leadership Club (TLC) |
The Teen Leadership Club is a program designed to
develop leadership qualities and abilities that are
important life-long skills for teens ages 13-17.
Our teens assist our summer camp counselors as group
leaders, help run games at our special events and
better their community through service projects.
The teens also plan, organize and execute their own
special events; such as a TLC trip to Cedar Point or
an all night lock-in at NMFC just to name a few. |

Tutoring |
Tutoring is available free of charge to children who
are enrolled in the After School Program (ASP) or the
Teen Leadership Club (TLC). Other arrangements

Walking Trail |
Come enjoy the beautiful Mills Township park on our
walking trails. An extensive system of trails
winds through the park around ponds, pines, and a
whole host of wildlife. The gates are open from
dawn to dusk 7 days a week. |
